Field Day - Thurdsay, May 29th 2008
She WON!!
Oh so tired after running around the field, she didn't stop once and won the race!
Her first jump in the standing broad jump.
This is Mrs. Granato, Janies AWESOME 1st grade teacher. She was explaining to them how to pass the baton in the relay that they were going to run.
Janie getting ready to run the relay.
So Janie got to participate in her first field day today. It was scheduled for last Thursday the 22nd but got rained out. We lucked out today because the school decided to have all the grades have field day at the same time rather than split them up like they were going to. So we had some decent weather until about noon when we were eating lunch. The kids got to do all the events except for the softball throw. Janie did awesome, she got 3rd in the 50yd dash, 2nd in the 75yd dash as well as in the hop, skip & jump, and her team got 2nd in the relay. She also took 1st in the race around the field, the sack race, and the standing broad jump. Janie did great and she seemed to have a wonderful time. I left Reid and Jack with Sarah and took Luke with me. He is such a great baby, I just pack him around in my sling and he is happy to be there! It was fun to be able to be there and cheer Janie on.

Thanks so much for the pix Rachel! They were very fun to look at with her! Love the hummingbird feeder, too!
GO JANIE!! How fun, that brought back a lot of memories. She will be the little athlete.
I can see she is going to be as athletic as her mom! It looks like it is gorgeous and green where you live, I am so jealous! It's over 100 officially. We are hoping to come to the reunion, if we can tweak Alec's schedule, we will definitely shoot for it, we would love to see you guys!
I tagged you!
Looks like she had so much fun! She is such a pretty girl. Looks like you will have to start a wall of medals ! :)
Janie looks SO much like you in some of those pictures. There's no mistaking her for your daughter - it looks like she's taking after you in a lot of ways.
I love all the pictures you've put up here lately! I can't wait to see you soon!
Janie is so adorable. What a little athlete. That is quite the achievement! I think it is so important for kids to learn how to be competitive and put effort into things. It seems like there is always someone who wants to protect their kids from any type of competition, but that is how they learn and grow.
Hey, by the way, do you know exactly what day the reunion is? We're trying to work out how to come. Is it Friday the 25th or Saturday or both?
