At it again!

50 years and counting
All the kids (except Janie, of course)
From top left: Greg #8, David #4, Brad #1, Brent #10, Justin #9, Ed #3,
down to bottom left: Penny #6, Amy #5, Bonnie & Glen, Nancy #2 and behind her is Sandra #7 Gotta have cake!
Jack had to have his new dump truck to play with too.
He really IS that ornery! :) It's going to be tough putting up with it for 50+ years. If I can make it 10 I can make it 50! And he has it EASY with my always sweet self! :)
I forgot to get a picture with the cake topper on.

After all the work of Janie's birthday cake I said it would have to be awhile before I did anything like that again. Well, has it been a while? Justin's parents are leaving for a second mission on January 11th, their 50th wedding anniversary is in April. So.... we decided to have an early anniversary party for them while all of Justin's siblings were her for Christmas. Amy asked if I would help make a cake for them and after deliberating with Sandra on what kind of cake I should make we decided I should make a replica of their original wedding cake. We got a picture of the cake and Bonnie had kept the original cake topper all these years so we sneaked it out of her hope chest and I went to work. When I was making the roses ahead of time I didn't really think about how white they were and that the buttercream frosting I was going to use would contrast with it so much. But there was nothing I could do when the time came so we made do. It was fun to do and Bonnie seemed to like it so that's all that mattered. As for the party, it was fun to have the whole family there to celebrate!

You are so stinking amazing! I had been wondering why I wasn't very talented, and I finally came to the realization that it's because all the talent went to my siblings! The cake is amazing. Good work, as usual!
