Reid got to play coach pitch this year and did a great job. The only picture I got of the whole season was this one. Reid is lucky he didn't get more than this. He was sitting in line waiting for his turn to back and Jed Nelson was in line in front of him. Jed was getting ready to bat by swinging the bat, like you usually do, but happened to be too close to Reid. Reid did have one of the baseball helmets on but the bat caught him just under the brim of the helmet. We are lucky it didn't split his eye open. He did get a great shiner though and you can see the scab right above his eyebrow where it skinned it a bit. Needless to say, Jed felt really bad and all the boys made sure they had plenty of room to swing the bat after that.
