Summer Fun & Yellow Boots

One of the evenings when we were out in the yard enjoying the summer weather. The kids love to play ball so the little boys hit off the T and Justin, Reid, and Janie played catch. For those of you who see us somewhat often know that Luke has a wild obsession with boots and gloves! His obsession started with these yellow boots. He found them out in the garage at the beginning of the summer. The first two days he wore them non-stop, he wouldn't even let me take them off when he went to bed. Now these are rubber boots so they don't "breathe" well, after two days his feet were, almost literally, rotten. He had blisters all over his feet and they smelled SO bad! I tried to not let him wear them but he kept saying, "Ma boooots, ma boooots!" He searched for them no matter where I hid them. He would put them on and then keep saying, "Ouch, Ouch, Oooweee!" But it was all I could do to get them off. I finally made him put on socks whenever he wore them, that was a huge fight as well but he finally gave in so he could wear his beloved boots. Luke has even worn them to church a few times because he would go find his boots and not let us put his Sunday shoes on him. He is quite the kid.
