The cake was barely big enough for five girls but one of the girls wasn't going to make it to the party so we left her off. If you had more guests you could make the heads smaller and cut the Twinkies in half to allow more people to fit on the cake.
This year I was looking for ideas for Janie's cake and found this awesome idea. We were having a "late-over" for her party. Late-overs are the new sleep-overs but rather than have kids sleep over they just stay over until late. :) There was no school on Friday so we planned the party for Thursday night from 6-10pm, we ate pizza, opened presents, played with presents, ate cake and then watched movie. The idea I found for the cake was a sleep-over cake, I thought it was so cute and had to make it. You use a 9x13 cake as the bed then I made marshmallow fondant and used it for the face and features of each of the girls that were coming to the party. I also used the fondant to cover the cake and as the bedspread that went over the girls. The body of the girls are Twinkies and then I used fondant pillows to prop up their heads. It turned out so cute, all the girls thought it was so cool to see themselves on the cake.

Wow! That is incredible! Great job on the cake! And what a great idea in place of a sleep over!
This cake is SO darling! Where did you find the idea? Is fondant very hard to work with? My daughter is already planning her late-over party for her birthday which isn't even until May!
That is AWESOME! I'm amazed at your cake abilities. I wish you lived closer, we could trade stuff. Hats for cakes, but now you make hats too, lol.
Happy birthday to Janie! I love the pictures of you two together, you beautiful girls!
Cambrie hasn't stopped talking about the cake and the party, so I had to check it out. It IS amazing. So great! You are very talented! Thanks for inviting Cambrie~she had a blast.
How fun! That cake is Amazing. OF course! You rock. Hey, I have an idea. We should go into business together. We could open a sweets shop in the Valley!! I don't think they have one do they? Then Russ could be our employee. haha.
Rachel, that is one of the cutest cakes I have ever seen! I would love to have the fondant recipe.......I have been wanting to try fondant but haven't yet. If it isn't top secret please email it to me at thill@silverstar.com when you have time. Thanks! Lexie Hill
That is so cute! You are so creative! I might have to give it a try for our halloween party with ghosts and witches.
I know I say this every time one of your kids has a birthday, but you are so amazing with the cakes you make! Love it!
