The Multi-Colored Cast

Well, we had an exciting week. We spent Wednesday at the clinic getting x-rays and a splint put on Reid's leg. Yes, that's right, Reid broke his right leg. He was showing me a "Triple Whip" off of the couch and landed wrong, he has a double spiral fracture of the large bone in his leg. Don't ask me the name of it but it's the big bone! It's broken between the knee and ankle. Lucky for us there is no need for surgery as there often is with spiral fractures. Just 4-6 weeks of wearing a cast and carrying him around. We went in today (Friday) for the first cast, as you can see Reid chose an array of colors. The doctor said to come back in two weeks, do more x-rays and he will probably be able to put on a walking cast that only goes to his knee so Reid can be more mobile. If all goes well he may only have to have the cast for 4 weeks, we will see. He drinks so much milk that hopefully it will pay off in a fast recovery! Reid is really tough and holding up well although he is somewhat more whiney and sensitive but he is doing good. So that is the latest here in Victor.

We have a pair of 4 year old's huh? Josh is in casts on both legs not because of a broken bone like Ried but he will be in for at least a month if not longer. Bathing is a chore since they can't get their casts wet. It is amazing how resiliant they are though. Josh is getting around better everyday. Hope Reid has a speedy recovery.

crazy reid! Triple whip...that just makes me laugh. I mean, it's not funny that he has a broken leg, but I can just imagine him doing his triple whip to show you...
anyhow. I would like to see more pictures of you and your pregnant belly! we miss you. and love you. good luck with Reid's leg.

That is so sad, poor kid, but I must admit he doesn't look too sad in his pictures. I hope you are doing alright and that he gets better soon!

Yikes! Wow, he certainly doesn't look like it's getting him down, does it? Wishing him a speedy recovery.

How are you able to carry him around right now? I think that would kill me! :)
