Heritage Park ~ 2011

We had the privilege of going to Heritage Park in Salt Lake City in August. We went with Grandma and Grandpa Neilson as well as Meg and her boys. The weather was mighty hot but that didn't stop us from seeing all that we could see. Luke enjoyed riding the pony and meeting a fine young lady who turned out to be a bank robber. She sure had a fine horse though and Luke got to sit on it with her. The kids all got to try their hand and panning for gold and each of them got to take what they found home with them. (Fools Gold, of course.) We got to see a blacksmith shop and several other old time buildings. One with a man making leather crafts, a woman who talked to us about how they made medicine back in the old days. We saw several old cabins with wonderful stories about some of the pioneers and their families. We got to pet goats, ride the pony, ride a train, witness a bank robbery, Reid got a shave and we got to take a lesson at the local school house. It was so fun, a little spendy, but fun!
