We had a great Halloween this year. We made a couple costumes, borrowed one, and pulled one together with help from the DI. The older kids wanted to be scary so Janie was a vampire and Reid was a skeleton. Jack wanted to be a power ranger and our neighbor had a Flash Gordon costume we got to borrow. Luke was this adorable chicken that I made. I got the stuff when Jack was a baby but Justin gave me so much guff about making him be a chicken that I didn't do it. But I did it this year for Luke and it was a hit. I decided to be the hillbilly chicken farmer to go along with Luke. We found Janie's dress at the DI for $3 and it was perfect for her, she also wanted a black wig to wear and once we put that on and painted her face no one recognized her, it was fun. For Reid we painted bones on a pair of black sweats and then painted his face to match, he loved that his bones glowed in the dark. Jack decided that he was a super hero instead of a power ranger and the suit fit perfect, thanks to Alison and Porter for letting us borrow the costume. Luke's was the funniest and I love that he wore it pretty much the whole evening. For his costume I got the idea off of Martha Stewart, you use feather boas and stitch them onto a white onesie, then you use yellow gloves for the feet and a white pilots cap with a red felt comb on top. I had a few people ask me if Luke was wearing a pair of underwear on his head, I'm not that mean of a mom, am I? For the festivities we went to our ward trunk or treat party and then over to the elementary school for a carnival. It was great because the trunk or treat was at 3pm then the carnival from 4-6p then we went home, cleaned kids up, put them to bed and Justin and I had a nice quiet evening with a movie and popcorn.

Awesome costumes!! I love them all! Janie and Reid definitely look scary! I love Luke's chicken outfit too! And by the way, you are too cute to be a hillbilly chicken farmer.
Hi Rachel! I so love your beautiful furniture you are building. You are amazing!!! Your kids costumes are too cute. I didn't hardly recognize Jaime. Too fun. They are getting too big. I love seeing your blog. I'm going to hopefully start on mine again. My camera broke in May and I haven't got a new one yet, but hopefully before too much longer. Sure do miss all of you up in Victor. Hopefully we can get up there sometime soon and get together!
Your kids costumes are sooo cute! I especially like the chicken!
