Halloween 2008
The mummy and the empress,I love this picture!
Time to go get some candy and goodies! We had quite the combination of costumes this year. It is so nice to finally be able to recycle some of the older costumes. The mummy and batman costumes are from a couple of years ago. I enjoy trying to be creative when it comes to costumes and try not to just buy the whole thing. This year Janie wanted to be the empress from Never Ending Story, easy huh? The hardest part was trying to find a plain white dress. I finally found a bride costume at Walmart to use for the dress. For the headdress I purchased a necklace pendant and then small white beads and used wire to create the shape for her head. I thought it turned out pretty cute. Reid wanted to be Indiana Jones so I found some pants at Walmart, a shirt at DI and then bought the fedora and whip online. Jack used a costume I bought for Reid two years ago. He loved it! I just had Jack pump some iron a couple times a week starting back in June so that he was all muscled up for Halloween! :) Luke wore the mummy costume that I made for Jack two years ago. It is easy, I just shredded some white fabric and then sewed it onto a sweat shirt and pants. Then used gauze for his head, he looked so cute. We went to the trunk-or-treat party and then the school carnival on the 31st. The kids got lots of candy and prizes, we all had a good time.

Those are creative and besides Jack, they all look authentic, you know, not store bought. oh, and I didn't realize Batman carried around a revolver!
They all look so good! I love it.
Lovely kids! Their costumes were great! I can't believe how big that they've gotten. Man, how time flies!
Batmans got to have a back up these days!! Ha ha. Justin was getting Reid ready with his costume and got him a pistol for his belt. After Jack saw that he, of course, couldn't go without one. So there you have Batman with a gun!
I don't know where to begin! The costumes are awesome! I totally knew what Janie was the instant I was the headpiece. And Jack's b-day cake? Come on, no one should be able to make a cake that cute. And can I just say that you and Justin are super hot as rockers!
They are all so cute!!! It looks like you had a great halloween!
What great costumes! That IS nice that you can start recycling some of them now. Sammy never seems to want to be what Josh was when he was Sammy's age. Oh well. Your pumpkins look great too and it looks like you guys had lots of fun carving them.
They look great! You're so creative to make so many of their costumes. I love Janie's headpiece! And too funny that Batman had to have a gun! I love it. And I want to have Brenner be a mummy next year because that costume is so darn cute!
