Easy jean skirt!

I found this awesome idea in the Family Fun magazine last month. I had about 4 pairs of Janies jeans with holes in the knees. I cut two of the pair into shorts and then saw this pattern and thought I would try it. I thought it turned out really cute and was somewhat easy. Here is the link if you want to try it, http://jas.familyfun.go.com/arts-and-crafts?page=CraftDisplay&craftid=11994 I made a few adjustments that I thought would work better. I used stitchwitchery instead of the glue, I also took in the skirt on the side seams so that it fit a little more snug and I ran a wide seam down the back where the stitchwitchery came undone when Janie was running in it, oh, and I didn't bother hemming it, I liked the raw edge look. Then of course we had to add our own fun so we added some jewels to make it sparkle. All in all it was pretty easy and was a fun change for those holey jeans.

Super B, she was holding her shirt up when I was taking a picture of the front of the skirt and she also had a black feather from her feather boa that she must have picked up.

very cute! I have a stack of girls jeans I need to re-fashion as well. I may have to do this to one of them!
