Janie's tooth

So Janie lost another tooth a couple of weeks ago. In fact, we told her she had to pull the tooth out because the adult tooth was coming in behind the baby tooth. Justin said she was like a shark because she has rows of teeth. The same tooth on the opposite side is also coming in behind the baby tooth. Anyway, she worked and worked on this one particular tooth and finally she pulled it out. It was kind of red and bloody so I told her she could put it in a cup of water to clean it off a bit. This is where the story gets tricky. So Janie put her tooth in a cup with a little water and left it on the counter close to the sink. Well, I putting a few dishes in the dishwasher while visiting with Justin and wiped the sink and ran the disposal. I heard an unusual sound like something was in the disposal that wasn't supposed to be. I hate sticking my hand down the disposal so I thought maybe it was just a popcorn seed or something and that it would flush out if I ran the disposal again. I did, and problem was solved, or so I thought. A little while later Janie came looking for her cup with the tooth in it and she couldn't find it. She had seen Jack with the cup at one point and realized that he must have dumped the water down the drain. After looking around for the lost tooth I put two and two together and realized that what I probably heard in the disposal was her tooth and that I had ground it up and sent it down the drain. Janie was quite upset and crying because her tooth was gone and how was she going to give it to the tooth fairy? Needless to say, we wrote a note to the tooth fairy explaining the situation. Lucky for us the tooth fairy is an awesome lady and was very understanding. Janie still got her quarter under her pillow for the lost tooth. - January 2008

OH NO! Good cover with the letter thing. What a cute little story for Janie to tell her kids when she is a mother.

That's funny. Poor thing must have been crushed. Luckily for her she still got the money. Hey where are the pictures of your hair cut?

yeah, I wanna see pictures of your hair and everything else. Blogging updates and stories are great, but I do like photos as well.
I remember Janie telling me this story over the phone. I am sure it will go down in history.

I love this story Rachel! That is too funny. Great cover up, I'm so glad your tooth fairy is understanding. I told my kids this story and they were spellbound until the end. They are fascinated with the tooth fairy since none of them have lost any teeth yet. I think kids' smiles with missing teeth are adorable, and Janie is no exception! :)

On shoot! You are so creative with your cover up... Janie looks so cute with her missing teeth. I can't wait for these fun times ahead, right now it is getting teeth, not loosing them around our house!
