My TV stand

This is the TV stand I made for myself. We had the TV sitting on an old end table and it was way too low. I hated that my feet were in the way if I had them on the ottoman because the TV was sitting so low. I asked Justin to build me something and he said the table was fine. Famous last words. He left for North Dakota and I decided to do it myself. I love how it turned out!!

Halloween ~ 2011

This year was fun making the kids costumes. Janie and I went to a Mtn. Man Rendezvous back in May and then our whole family went to one in June. It was so fun, I could totally be one of those people. They actually have a club that includes all the surrounding areas and they travel to different rendezvous of their choice and set up camp and hang out for the week or so and sell their merchandise and live the life of the mountain man. I think it's awesome. As a result the kids wanted to be mountain men and Indians. It was really fun! We opted out of the trunk or treat this year and just took the kids around to some of the older couples in the ward, it was SO much better! The kids got some great candy, full size candy bars and such and it wasn't just a huge bag of tootsie roll type stuff. And it was a win/win situation. The older folks loved seeing the kids in their costumes and it was fun for the kids to say trick or treat. They actually had to do a trick at a couple of the houses to get their treat. I also like my kids to see how important it is to remember the older couples around and to see how much they enjoy visiting with us and us with them. I think the days of trunk or treat are long gone!!

Jack's 6th Birthday

I cannot believe that Jack is 6, where does the time go? He started kindergarten this year and loves it! His teacher, Miss Hulet, is so great with the kids and Jack looks forward to going to school each day. For Jack's birthday he got to have a party and have some of his friends over, he had Bridger Park, Sadie Bagley, Jack Streit and Tyson Marcum. The kids enjoyed playing with Jack's new toys and eating the pirate ship cake. We love Jack so much, he is a wonderful boy. He is kind and always willing to help. When I ask for things to be done he is usually the very first one to get it done!! We love you Jack Man!!

Janie's Cake

We were so busy with things going on on Janie's birthday that I forgot to get any pictures of her with her cake. This year she wanted me to make the cake and her and her friend Tori wanted to decorate it. It was fun for them to try out their piping abilities with all the different colors. Janie is now 11 and cannot wait for her next birthday to come so she can get her ears pierced. For her birthday she had her good friend, Tori, over and they played and decorated the cake then went over to Tori's house for some fun over there. We love Janie, she is such a great help to her mother. She is like a little mother herself, always trying to boss the boys around. She is old enough now to babysit her brothers and it makes it nice for her Dad and me to get out on a date once in a while. We never have to worry because she is very dependable and does what she is supposed to. Janie is turning into quite the young woman and we are so proud of her!! We love you Janie!!

Fun at Shoshone Falls

We love visiting Grandma and Grandpas house in Kimberly, Idaho. We have enjoyed several trips down to see the falls, which are amazing! The last couple of years we have also had the pleasure of going to a local pumpkin patch and picking out our pumpkins.

Trip to the top of Rendezvous Mountain

Lucas the photographer again!

View from the window of the tram heading up the mountain.

In Jackson Hole, Wyoming there is a tram many of you know of. It takes people to the top of the mountain in the winter to ski but also all summer to see the view. Each spring and fall they have a local's special where you can ride the tram for free with a flash of your local drivers license. We went in September this year and it was amazing, the colors were so vibrant and the weather was great. It was a bit windy and chilly at the top but not too bad. The view is so amazing!! If you are ever in the area you should definitely take a ride to the top of Rendezvous Mountain.

Katie's Wedding Cake

I am having trouble with my facebook page so I will just post my latest cake here until I can get it on fb. I also decided I am going to post from now on and then back date the older post so you will have to scroll down to see what we have been doing all summer.

This cake is one I did for Katie Woolstenhulme, I thought it turned out cute. I loved the white with the green.

First Day of School ~ 2011

First day of school for the kiddos. Jack was headed off to his first day of kindergarten, Reid to 3rd grade and Janie to 5th grade. I always hate going back to school in August, the weather is almost always wonderful then, for Teton Valley that is something worth mentioning. The past couple of years the kids get out of school the first part of June and we sit around inside most of the month before the weather gets nice enough to run around barefoot and enjoy the dog days of summer. I really wish that the school board would push the start of school back at least until after Labor Day.
